The Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System sits on the California/Nevada border and generates enough electricity to generate power for 140,000 homes.
The drive to get to this location was an adventure itself. It included the most beautiful mountain ranges and a forest of Joshua Trees.
From the ground, Ivanpah looks like any other solar farm. Hundreds of thousands of mirrors decorate the landscape. Using a drone, and capturing the plant as the sun was setting allowed me to create an entirely different scene. As one of my followers put it, this could have been 'a scene from a sci-fi movie on another planet.'
This is why I create, especially from an aerial perspective. Photography gives you the power to transform ordinary scenes and structures into something that delights the imagination.
