A S T E R I A

I embody the darkness of the celestial sphere and the innumerable stars that dot my skies; she is the burning sun and I the dark abyss of evening. I spend my days chasing her radiance from abreast. For centuries I have cherished her yet I am never able to reach out and caress her luminous astral presence; her bright glow sustains all mortal beings- mercy and grace seep from her vivid spirit. Though I long for her to bring light to my darkness I know she would only destroy me; a forbidden love affair that will leave my soul scalded and singed- but still I follow her light hoping one day she will turn and anoint me with her tender graze.
