Aluna depicts seshat, it is the same way i see every black woman. Seshat, under various spellings, was the ancient Egyptian goddess of wisdom, knowledge, and writing. She was seen as a scribe and record keeper, and her name means she who scrivens (i.e. she who is the scribe), and is credited with inventing writing. She also became identified as the goddess of accounting, architecture, astronomy, astrology, building, mathematics, and surveying. This art pays tribute to every black woman in the world. in you holds the treasure of knowledge, wisdom and procreation. i made this last year in celebration of black history month. the moon represents wisdom, knowledge and the essence of life. the sad realities of our existence haave made us keep them caged up. with the advancing of time, we have learned to let our lights out into the world. black women, have done exceedingly well in every space of life.
