Evoking the nostalgia of sitting on hot concrete in the summertime, this image was captured with a medium format film camera dating from 1929, personally restored by the artist.
The camera, lovingly named Franklin, was adapted to take 35mm film, exposing the negative as a panorama over the entire frame including sprocket holes. With a small metal square for a viewfinder, the perfect alignment of the horizon and positioning of the sea wall was a stroke of serendipitous luck.
Shot on Kodak Gold 35mm film. Developed, scanned, and processed by hand by the artist.
