A backcountry waterfall in Central Maine's Baxter State Park, one of the best state parks in the country. Baxter State Park adopts a National Park Service model for their maintenance. The park is pristine. Green Falls is miles away from the nearest road. Though plant growth is common around backcountry waterfalls, Green Falls is notable in the extent of its "carpet" of sphagnum moss.
