The Distraction of the Attentive Look is part of the Photographic Essay Negras Raízes, made in April 2008, in the city of Alcântara, in the state of Maranhão. That year, I worked as a socio-economic researcher and photographer, documenting the remaining quilombo communities, where I could visit, particularly about 40 communities.
The photograph of the Êres (children), was taken in the Quilombola Community of Santo Inácio, Alcântara, Maranhão, Brazil.
OBS:
this image is one of the FIRST photographs made with digital equipment, a Sony W50, here begins my transition from analog photography to digital photography.
Ideal for enlarging on paper in the size 13 cm x 18 cm.
