This work is one in a series of 5 works I titled 'Mandala Variations' I consciously try to avoid symbolism in all my art so it came as a surprise when my finished work reminded me of a mandala. I love to work in the square format as it poses challenges to the design. Perhaps that is why the work evolved as it did - a circle within a square. The signature is the one I was using in 2018
