In July 2022, while recovering from Covid, I began a new series of abstract paintings in Procreate. The work was a sharp departure from my previous work, which used photographic images and collages. These static digital images utilize many of my favorite hues and colors. By layering, I can control the transparency values, which gives the art the desired color and tone. "The Buildings" series is reminiscent of the artist Piet Mondrian and his landscape geometric abstract works. It brings back my childhood in Greenwich Village and another part of New York's iconic architecture. When turned 90 degrees clockwise, I am reminded of the little trains I played with as a boy. I've titled the series "Building Abstractions" Digital paintings, available as NFT editions of five on Makers Place with a physical print option. I've found that the best paper for the series is Archival Hahnemühle Cold Press.
