I was inspired to create this art by Charles Dickens novel David Copperfield. Or rather, David's feeling for little Em'ly. The following excerpt from the book is slightly modified. "Certainly, I fell in love with little Emily. I am sure that my love for this tiny creature was as devoted, as tender, yet purer and more selfless than even the most sublime and ennobling love of my later life, no matter how lofty that love might have been. I am certain my imagination cast a kind of halo around this child, transforming her into an ethereal being, a true angel. Had she, on some bright morning, unfurled her wings and flown away before my very eyes, I do not think it would have much surpassed my expectations"
