Finally, a day free for some exploring. Aside from a lust to gallivant around Manhattan in search of a very specific guitar from one of the many well-known retailers, I had also been invited to a house party over in Brooklyn that evening.
Guitar shopping sounds fun, but I promise, it's quite arduous. Even if you know the make and model you want, there are many variances that occur during the assembly of the instrument leading to subtle variations in the final instrument. The added pressure of spending a single day in NYC to find such a thing? Less than ideal.
Hours pass.
"Where is this place?" "Walk to the Williamsburg Bridge... Look up!" "Ahh, rooftop! I'll buzz you guys"
I suddenly felt thankful for lugging not only a new guitar, but also the camera gear.
